Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, son of former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso and Secretary of the Kwankwasiyya movement, has officially resigned from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

He made this known in a statement shared on his Facebook page on Monday, explaining that his decision came after careful thought and consideration.

According to him, stepping away from the NNPP was not a rushed move but a deliberate one.

“I want to inform the general public that as of today, I have officially resigned my membership from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP),” he stated.

Mustapha also revealed that he is in the process of joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the move as the start of a new phase in his political journey.

He expressed confidence in the ADC, saying he believes the party has the right vision and structure to drive meaningful change in Nigeria, especially in Kano State.

According to him, his decision was based on the belief that the ADC offers a stronger platform to achieve goals such as good governance, economic growth, and improved living conditions for citizens.

With this move, Mustapha Kwankwaso joins the growing list of politicians realigning ahead of future political developments in the country.
