Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has urged Nigerians to be patient, saying the challenges in the power sector cannot be fully resolved within three and a half years.
Speaking at the 2026 APC National Convention in Abuja on Friday, March 27, Abiodun acknowledged that power supply has been inconsistent in recent weeks.
“From the common man’s point of view, we have had problems with power supply in the last couple of weeks, but we will not get it right 100 per cent in three and a half years,” he said.
Despite these challenges, the governor noted gradual improvement, adding, “But you know what, I think so far, so well.”
Nigerians have been experiencing poor electricity supply, which has worsened over the last two months due to limited gas supply to thermal power plants. The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, recently apologised to Nigerians for the situation and assured that power supply would improve within two weeks.
