An abandoned baby has been found along Power Line Street in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The infant, whose identity is yet to be determined, was discovered by residents on Sunday afternoon, March 8, 2026.
Eyewitnesses told Hope Newspaper that the baby was allegedly left at the location around 1 p.m. by an unknown individual who quickly fled the scene.
“The child was seen lying helplessly before kind-hearted residents stepped in to ensure the baby was safe while efforts were made to alert the authorities,” a witness said.
A resident who spoke on condition of anonymity described the incident as disturbing, noting that many people in the area expressed sadness over the situation.
The matter was later reported to the police, prompting officers to intervene and assess the circumstances surrounding the abandoned infant.
A police source in Ore confirmed the incident, stating that it had been brought to the attention of security authorities.
