President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially sworn in Olatunji Disu as the substantive Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
The swearing-in ceremony took place on Wednesday, March 4, at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The event was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila. Other dignitaries present included the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Head of Service Mrs. Esther Walson-Jack, and several cabinet members.
Immediately after Disu’s swearing-in, President Tinubu also administered the oath of office to the newly appointed commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission and the Federal Civil Service Commission.
Disu’s appointment, endorsed by the Nigeria Police Council on Monday, March 2, follows his selection by President Tinubu. He succeeds Kayode Egbetokun as the nation’s top police officer.
