Former footballer Emmanuel Emenike has sparked conversation on social media after sharing his views on the state of the nation.
In a post on his Instagram page this morning, Emenike said Nigerians are deceiving themselves if they believe they will get a better country under what he described as their “oppressors.”
He lamented that insecurity has worsened to the point where road trips are no longer common because of the rising threat of kidnapping. According to him, those who criticise the government risk being set up and arrested.
Emenike added that Nigeria could have been as developed as the United Arab Emirates, but argued that progress has been hindered by what he called “criminals” in positions of power.
