A Nigerian woman, identified as Chiemeka, has accused the police in Lagos State of attempting to shield her husband from facing justice.
In a video circulating on social media, Chiemeka alleged that her husband sexually assaulted their four-year-old daughter. She said she reported the incident at a police station along Ago Palace Way on Sunday, February 15, and was asked to return the following day.
According to her, officers initially assured her that her husband would be invited and made to appear before them on Monday, February 16. However, she claimed she was later informed that the case had been transferred to the Festac Police Division.
Chiemeka alleged that her husband used his connections to have the case moved to Festac, where she fears he may evade accountability.
She has called on Nigerians to support her in seeking justice for her daughter.
