American singer Ray J has left fans worried after appearing on stage with what looked like blood streaming from his eyes during a recent performance.
The 45-year-old star’s appearance comes weeks after he openly shared his health struggles, revealing that he doesn’t expect to live for more than a year.
In January, Ray J posted on social media that he was battling severe heart failure, which he linked to years of heavy drinking and drug use. He was also hospitalised in Las Vegas earlier this year with pneumonia and heart pain. The singer previously said he “almost died” when he was first treated for a serious lung infection back in 2021.
Despite his health challenges, the “One Wish” hitmaker performed over the weekend at a small Valentine’s Day concert in Shreveport, Louisiana. He appeared energetic and even handed roses to fans in the crowd. However, he wore dark sunglasses, and what seemed to be blood could be seen flowing from underneath them.
Videos from the performance quickly spread online, although it’s still unclear whether it was real blood or part of a stage effect.
At one point during the show, Ray J unzipped his orange jumpsuit, revealing what looked like medical dressing on the upper left side of his chest. While he didn’t explain it, some believe he may have undergone a procedure or had a heart monitor attached.
Even with the worrying visuals, he remained lively, jumping off the stage and singing among fans. In a backstage video recorded by a friend after the show, Ray J smiled and insisted he was okay.
“That’s not fair… don’t do that,” he said when his friend mentioned his health. “Ain’t nobody sick. Look at me, I’m fine.”
Fans, however, were not convinced. Many took to social media to share their concerns.
“I’ve never seen an eye bleed, that’s crazy,” one person wrote.
Another added, “Praying he’s okay.”
Some also suggested he may be trying to stay strong despite his situation, with one fan writing, “He might just be putting on a brave face and living life to the fullest.”
The performance has since sparked widespread discussion, with many hoping the singer is not in as serious condition as he previously claimed.
