Veteran Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba, has opened up about one of the biggest misunderstandings people have about him.

In a recent interview with Voice of Nigeria shared on February 10, the music icon reflected on his life — love, fame, marriage, fatherhood, and the weight that comes with being constantly in the public eye. According to him, the label that has followed him around for years doesn’t quite tell the full story.

“The biggest misconception about me is that I’m a womaniser,” he said. “I like women; I’m just straightforward. But I’m a lover boy. I love hard.”

Beyond the headlines and public opinions, 2Baba also spoke candidly about fatherhood — a role he clearly takes to heart. The singer revealed that one of his greatest personal struggles has been trying to balance his demanding music career with being present for his children.

Now a father of eight, he says he feels deeply blessed. Still, there’s a part of him that wishes he had been able to spend more quality time with them over the years.

“I have eight kids now. I feel blessed and happy, but the sadness comes from the fact that I haven’t gotten to spend the type of time I should have spent with them collectively. It does something to me sometimes,” he shared.

Despite that regret, his pride in his children is obvious.

“They’re amazing, brilliant people. I just wish I was there more. It touches me from all corners.”

Through it all, 2Baba’s reflections show a man who is not just a superstar, but also someone navigating love, responsibility, and the realities of fame — just like anyone else, only under a much brighter spotlight.
