President Bola Tinubu has once again intervened to ease tensions between Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara and his predecessor, now Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike.

According to The Nation, the President held a late-night meeting on Sunday, February 8, in Abuja with Wike, Fubara, and other key political stakeholders from Rivers State.

Details of the discussions remain confidential, but the report notes that Governor Fubara reportedly accompanied Wike to his residence in Guzape, Abuja, after the meeting.

The Nation adds that Fubara allegedly sought Wike’s forgiveness, pledging not to show him disrespect in the future—a move that could signal a potential reconciliation between the state’s two most influential political figures.

This development follows recent political turbulence in Rivers State, where supporters of Wike in the State House of Assembly had attempted to push for Fubara’s impeachment.
