Popular Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson has spoken out against online content creators and social media users who spread unfounded accusations about her, describing the experience as distressing and hurtful.

The actress lamented that people continue to circulate damaging and unverified claims, particularly allegations branding her as a witch. She explained that these rumors have moved beyond social media and are now having real-life consequences for her family.

According to Mercy, her teenage children, who are currently in school, have been subjected to bullying because of the false narratives. She revealed that some parents have allegedly instructed their children not to allow Mercy’s kids touch their school bags, based solely on the harmful allegations made against her.

Mercy Johnson shared this during a video in which she also announced that she had granted clemency to a TikToker she had earlier taken legal action against. Despite showing forgiveness in that instance, the actress warned that she would not extend the same grace to others who continue to spread false and damaging information about her.

She emphasized that anyone making such claims must be prepared to back them up with proof, stating firmly that she will no longer tolerate baseless accusations.

“Every other person who has alleged must prove,” Mercy said.
