Content creator and self-styled prophet Evans Eshun, widely known as Ebo Noah, has been remanded in police custody for two weeks following the adjournment of his case at the Adentan Circuit Court.

The court also ordered that Ebo Noah undergo a psychiatric evaluation at the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital ahead of his next appearance. The assessment is expected to aid ongoing investigations and guide the court’s next steps.

The case has been adjourned to January 16, with the psychiatric report expected to be submitted before the hearing.

Ebo Noah had claimed in August 2025 that he received a divine revelation predicting the end of the world, allegedly caused by continuous rainfall lasting three years and set to begin on December 25, 2025. According to the 33-year-old, he was instructed by God to build an ark in preparation for a catastrophic flood.

As Christmas drew closer, several Christians reportedly visited the site of the ark, hoping to gain access as a means of escape. On December 24, 2025, Ebo Noah announced that the ark was about 80 percent completed, insisting it would be the only refuge when the disaster began.

However, when no flood occurred on Christmas Day, he later claimed to have received another revelation stating that the anticipated disaster would no longer happen. He further alleged that he was instructed to build additional arks instead.

Following the failed prophecy, operatives of the Ghana Police Service’s Special Cyber Vetting Team arrested Ebo Noah on December 31, 2025, in the Weija-Gbawe area of Accra while he was live-streaming online.

He was detained over allegations of spreading online disinformation and was subsequently arraigned before the court on Friday, January 2. Prosecutors charged him with false communication, deliberately misleading the public, and publishing false news—offences said to be in violation of Ghana’s criminal laws.
