The suspects—Victor Amadi, 29; Moses Okoro, 31; Ebuka Onye, 28; and Isaac Amadi, 23—were apprehended following separate intelligence-led raids conducted at different locations across Owerri, during which large quantities of prohibited fireworks and pyrotechnic items were recovered.
Confirming the arrests to journalists, the command’s spokesperson, SP Henry Okoye, reiterated the state’s total ban on the use, sale, distribution, and possession of fireworks, knockouts, bangers, and all other explosive devices. He warned that anyone found violating the directive would be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
