Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), plans to challenge the life imprisonment and additional sentences handed down by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja, his former lawyer and consultant, Aloy Ejimakor, has confirmed.
Kanu was sentenced to life imprisonment on counts one, two, four, five, and six; received a 20-year term on count three without the option of a fine; and was handed an additional five-year term on count seven, also without the option of a fine.
Speaking to journalists after the ruling, Ejimakor stated, “We are heading to appeal.”
