Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, lashed out in court on Thursday, November 7, during the continuation of his terrorism trial.
Kanu, who is representing himself, appeared before the court but declined to open his defence. Instead, he launched a verbal attack on the presiding judge, accusing the court of injustice and bias.
“You don’t know what justice means. You have no idea what justice means,” Kanu said.
“Useless Black African people. You don’t know the meaning of justice,” he added.
Kanu further accused the judge of perverting justice by disregarding the constitution.
He demanded that the court produce the “written law” guiding its actions, describing the entire proceeding as “nonsense.”
“Your constitution says you cannot try anybody unless the law is written. Show me the written law,” he demanded.
Kanu went on to allege that the Nigerian judiciary was acting under external influence. “You think Britain can ask you to jail me and you’ll jail me. You’re dreaming,” he said.
