The personnel were arrested in two patrol teams operating under the Gwagwalada and Abaji Unit Commands in the Federal Capital Territory. A total of N39,600 was recovered from the officers, allegedly extorted from unsuspecting motorists,” Mohammed said.

He added that officers in the Abaji team were reportedly using a Point-of-Sale (PoS) device to collect money from road users.

The Corps Marshal emphasized that the FRSC would not tolerate bribery, corruption, or any unethical behavior among its staff, highlighting the importance of maintaining the organization’s integrity.

“The affected personnel will be dismissed from service upon completion of the investigation, in line with FRSC regulations,” he said.

Mohammed also warned the public against offering bribes to FRSC officials and encouraged citizens to report any officer soliciting money from motorists.

Members of the public can report misconduct through the FRSC mobile app or by calling the Corps’ toll-free emergency line, 112.
