Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, has questioned the demolition of several buildings in the Trade Fair area of the state.

According to reports, operatives of the state task force, accompanied by security agents, stormed the Trade Fair complex and began demolishing 19 “illegal developments and structures.” The affected buildings were said to have been erected without statutory approvals, while others were allegedly defective or built on road setbacks and drainage channels.

Reacting to the development in a post on his Facebook page, Igbokwe expressed shock over the exercise and asked what was going on. He further disclosed that he, alongside former Anambra State governor Peter Obi and the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, are patrons of the market.
