Reality TV star Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has criticized Nigerians for channeling all their frustrations at President Bola Tinubu while neglecting to hold governors, senators, and local government chairmen accountable.
In a video shared on social media, Tacha cited the Federation Account Allocation Committee’s recent disbursement of ₦2.2 trillion to the federal, state, and local governments, stressing that funds are available but poorly managed.
“₦44 billion, I didn’t say million, ₦44 billion has been disbursed to a local government chairman. Watch how they’ll do absolutely nothing with it, because at the end of the day, they know Nigerians will come out and drag Tinubu. They’ll come out and drag the presidency,” she said.
She argued that public outrage is often misdirected at the president or Lagos State, which she described as one of the best-performing states, while underperforming leaders at the grassroots level escape scrutiny.
“It’s like Nigerians only know how to drag two people in this country. Every Nigerian believes their problem is Tinubu. Meanwhile, even at the local government level, where responsibilities are plenty, leaders are doing absolutely nothing.
Money has been given to your state governors, money has been given to your local government chairmen, your House of Reps members, your senators. Hold them by their necks and let them deliver. If you start dragging these people individually, Nigeria will change,” she added.
