Explosion at Military Factory in Kaduna Leaves Two Dead, Four Injured

A tragic explosion shook the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) factory in the Kakuri Industrial area of Kaduna South Local Government on Saturday, September 20.

The blast, which occurred around 10 a.m., resulted in the deaths of two people and left four others injured. The force of the explosion was strong enough to be heard across communities in both Kaduna South and neighboring Chikun Local Government areas.

The injured were first taken to St. Gerard’s Catholic Hospital in Kakuri before being transferred by a military ambulance to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna for further treatment.

As of now, DICON management has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.

Founded in 1964, DICON is Nigeria’s leading arms manufacturing company, responsible for producing weapons and ammunition for the Nigerian Armed Forces.
