The respected media figure, who was also a contender for the traditional igweship stool of Ogbunike, reportedly collapsed during a public event on Friday, August 23, 2025. The event was hosted by his rival in the ongoing traditional leadership race.
Eyewitnesses say the tragic incident happened just moments after he attempted to spray money on a group of women who had danced toward him in greeting. He suddenly slumped backwards and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Sadly, he passed away a few hours later.
The news of his untimely death has sent shockwaves across Anambra, especially as it came barely a day after he had shared a heartfelt message of peace and unity on his social media platforms. Many now regard that post as both symbolic and prophetic, considering the circumstances of his passing.
