The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has urged Nigerians who lost money to the fraudulent cryptocurrency platform, Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), to visit its zonal offices in Ibadan and Lagos to aid ongoing investigations.
The call was made in a statement by the agency’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, on Friday, August 23, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to the EFCC, CBEX lured unsuspecting investors with promises of unrealistic returns, resulting in losses exceeding ₦1 billion before the platform collapsed in April this year.
The commission revealed that three suspects — Adefowora Olanipekun, Otorudo Avwerosuo, and Ehirim Chukwuebuka — are currently facing prosecution over their alleged involvement in the scam.
Victims who invested through individuals linked to CBEX offices in Ibadan and Idimu, Lagos, are urged to report to the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate or Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 to assist with the investigation.
