Female Corps Member Stripped and Assaulted by Gun-Wielding Vigilante Officers in Anambra

A shocking incident in Anambra State has sparked public outrage after a female corps member, Jennifer Edema Elohor, was stripped and physically assaulted by armed members of a local vigilante group.

The group, identified as Operation Udo Ga-Achi (Agunechemba Vigilante Group), reportedly stormed a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) lodge on July 23, 2025, accusing corps members of cybercrime. Despite the corps members presenting their NYSC uniforms and identification cards, the vigilantes proceeded to drag Jennifer out of her residence, beat her, and forcibly remove her clothing in full view of others.

Footage of the assault, which has since gone viral (with sensitive content blurred), shows Jennifer crying and pleading while being brutalized a scene that has led to widespread condemnation.

Haven360 Foundation, a human rights advocacy group now supporting the victim, has described the act as a gross violation of human rights and is calling for the immediate prosecution of those responsible.

The Anambra State Government is yet to issue an official statement, but public pressure is mounting for swift justice and stricter regulation of local vigilante operations.
