A Catholic priest has spoken out after allegedly being harassed by Lagos State Task Force officials, despite driving a private vehicle and presenting all necessary documentation.

In a video circulating online, the visibly distressed priest explained that the officials stopped him and demanded an additional “paper” that was not legally required. According to him, he promptly contacted a senior police officer, who confirmed that his vehicle was indeed private and did not fall under commercial transport regulations.

The priest further stated that he had all relevant documents in order, including a tinted glass permit issued by the Nigerian government. However, he claimed that the task force personnel ignored this and continued to press him for more papers.

The incident has sparked concern on social media, with many calling for increased accountability among enforcement agencies and better education on the rights of private vehicle owners.
