Big Brother Naija star Uriel Oputa has taken to social media to respond to social commentator Solomon Buchi’s remarks about media personality Toke Makinwa’s pregnancy.
In a video shared on his platforms, Buchi expressed happiness for Toke but advised her to avoid “spiritualizing” her pregnancy. He argued that, according to his interpretation of God’s teachings, a woman should be married before having a child. While acknowledging Toke’s choice, he criticized having a child outside of marriage, suggesting it conflicts with the values of a “Jesus girl.”
Uriel, however, pushed back against Buchi’s comments in an Instagram post. She stated that Buchi has no right to judge Toke’s pregnancy without understanding the personal challenges she may have faced. Uriel also questioned why a man would be so vocal about matters concerning women’s bodies and experiences.
Her response sparked conversations about respect, privacy, and the complexities surrounding women’s choices.
