A 47-year-old Chinese national working as a supervisor at BN Ceramics in Ajaokuta, Kogi State, has died after collapsing at his duty post, the police have confirmed.
The deceased, identified as Mr. Luo Zhi Mao, reportedly slumped on August 2, 2025, around 6:30 p.m. while working in the Press Department of the factory.
He was initially rushed to Covenant Hospital in Ajaokuta and later referred to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Lokoja. However, due to an ongoing strike by medical personnel at FMC, he was subsequently transferred to Shifaah Hospital in Lokoja.
Mr. Luo was confirmed dead at Shifaah Hospital at approximately 9:30 p.m. on August 5, 2025.
His remains have been deposited at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.
While investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of death, police sources said no foul play is suspected at this stage.
As of the time of filing this report, the management of BN Ceramics has not released an official statement regarding the incident.
