Nollywood actor Yul Edochie stirred social media conversations this afternoon after unveiling a striking new poster in which he boldly identifies himself as both a Prophet and Traditionalist.

In his post shared online, Edochie emphasized the spiritual importance of ancestral connection within Igbo culture. According to him, the ancestors of Igbo land serve as divine guardians—what he calls “guiding angels”—who are ever-present and ready to fight on behalf of their people.

He encouraged Igbos everywhere to reconnect with these ancestral spirits and “activate” them, promising that doing so would lead to spiritual breakthroughs and protection in life’s battles.

Here’s what Yul Edochie wrote:

“The ancestors of Igbo land are your guiding angels.

Activate them.

Call on them.

Let them fight your battles.

They are powerful.

They are always there.

All you need to do is activate them.”

Yul’s bold proclamation as a Prophet/Traditionalist has sparked debate across social platforms, with fans, critics, and cultural enthusiasts weighing in on the merging of prophetic identity with deep-rooted traditional beliefs
