FCMB Launches New Branch in Sangotedo, Lagos

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) marked a significant milestone on June 26, 2025, with the official commissioning of its new branch in Sangotedo, Lagos. The event drew enthusiastic support from local leaders who expressed optimism about the branch’s potential to drive economic growth and enhance banking services for residents and businesses in the area.

Oba Abiodun Ogunbo, the Ogudu Oshadi I of Ogombo Kingdom, represented by Chief Lukman Lawal, the Aro of Ogombo Kingdom, warmly welcomed FCMB’s expansion into the community. Highlighting the urgent need for accessible banking solutions, he commended FCMB’s longstanding dedication to supporting individuals and enterprises alike. Oba Ogunbo expressed confidence that the new branch would open doors to new opportunities and stimulate local economic activity.

Similarly, the Olu of Sangotedo Kingdom, Oba Mohammed Olufunmi, represented by Otunba Tunde Johnson, praised the Bank’s move and encouraged FCMB to deepen its roots in the rapidly developing area. He underscored the importance of expanding banking infrastructure to keep pace with the community’s growth.

At the commissioning ceremony, Mr. Emmanuel Comla, FCMB’s National Head of Sales, stood alongside Honourable John Ogundare, Chairman of Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area. Hon. Ogundare highlighted the new branch as a landmark achievement for Sangotedo and the wider Eti-Osa region. He described it as a “testament to the growth and potential of our community,” and voiced his hope that the branch would become a vital pillar supporting local economic development and improving the daily lives of residents.

He further called on FCMB to actively back small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), recognizing their key role as engines of local prosperity.

Representing FCMB Managing Director/CEO Mrs. Yemisi Edun, Mr. Comla reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable banking. He emphasized FCMB’s mission to grow alongside the community by providing flexible financing options to businesses and integrating more individuals into the formal economy.

Mr. Comla also noted Sangotedo’s strategic advantage, highlighting its proximity to critical infrastructure such as the Lekki–Epe Expressway, Dangote Refinery, and the Deep-Sea Port. He assured that FCMB remains dedicated to fostering inclusive growth and sustainable development by bridging people, capital, and markets.

Adding to the Bank’s forward-thinking approach, Mr. Ademola Idowu, Group Head of Operations and International Trade Services at FCMB, detailed the branch’s innovative features. The facility runs on renewable energy, boasts full integration into FCMB’s digital ecosystem—including mobile and internet banking, dependable ATMs, and an efficient queue management system—and is equipped with a solar-powered backup to ensure continuous service for customers.

The opening of the FCMB Sangotedo branch marks a new chapter of opportunity and progress for Lagos residents, promising accessible, modern banking solutions to fuel the community’s ongoing development.
