The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command successfully foiled a robbery attempt in the Zone E Extension area of Apo Resettlement, Abuja, on June 23, 2025, at around 10:30 p.m.
According to reports, the Divisional Police Officer of Apo Division, CSP Uchenna Igwebuike, acted swiftly upon receiving a distress call from a commercial motorcycle rider in the area. Responding officers came under heavy fire from the assailants, prompting a tactical reinforcement led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Isyaku Sharu. The team responded with superior firepower, forcing the suspects to flee into the nearby hills.
A joint manhunt involving police operatives and local vigilantes is currently underway to track down the fleeing criminals.
