President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the recent suicide bombing in Konduga, Borno State, and the brutal lynching of 12 wedding guests traveling from Zaria, Kaduna State, to Jos, Plateau State.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the suicide attack—which occurred at a food establishment in Konduga on Friday, June 20—as cowardly and tragic. He extended his condolences to the government and people of Borno State and directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide support to survivors. The president also urged security agencies to intensify efforts to eliminate remnants of the Boko Haram insurgency, which continues to target soft civilian locations.

President Tinubu also expressed deep sorrow over an explosion at a scrap metal factory in Kano on Saturday morning, which killed five people and injured 15. He extended his condolences to the victims’ families and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Reacting to the killing of 12 wedding guests—including the father and brother of the groom—along the Kaduna-Jos route, the President condemned the attack as “barbaric and unacceptable.” He called on the Nigerian Police Force and other security and intelligence agencies to work together to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice.

President Tinubu called for national calm and reassured citizens that these heinous crimes will not go unpunished.
