Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly agreed personal terms with top Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal.
The Nigerian forward had previously walked away from negotiations after his demand for a €40 million-per-year salary was not met. However, fresh reports now indicate that both parties have reached an agreement on a contract worth €30 million annually over four years.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Osimhen is set to earn approximately $35 million (£29m/€32m) per year, including performance-based add-ons, under the terms of the deal.
Despite this breakthrough with the player, Al Hilal are yet to reach an agreement with Napoli over the transfer fee. Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Saudi Pro League side has offered €70 million (£59m/$80m), while Napoli are holding out for €75 million (£63m/$86m).
Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing. If Al Hilal finalize the deal before the mini-transfer window closes on June 10, Osimhen could feature for the club at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
This latest development comes as a major blow to Turkish champions Galatasaray, who had hoped to retain Osimhen following a highly successful loan spell. The 25-year-old scored 37 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions for the Istanbul-based club.
