A building intended to house an eatery collapsed during torrential rainfall, which was preceded by heavy rainstorms, in the Dugbe area of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Sunday night, June 1.
An X user, Arugboboisi (@Arugboboisi_Sam), who shared the information via a post, reported that debris from the collapsed structure blocked one lane of the heavily trafficked Dugbe–Mokola Road. The blockage posed a significant hazard to motorists and other road users on Sunday.
Emergency responders and equipment were promptly dispatched to the scene, where they worked tirelessly to remove the rubble and clear the obstruction. “We urge everyone traveling along the Dugbe–Mokola axis from this evening until tomorrow (Monday) morning to slow down, drive cautiously, and stay alert for diversions or emergency activity on the road,” Arugboboisi advised.
