“Cancer touches us all,” Biden shared in a social media post. “Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.”

According to his office, Biden and his family are currently reviewing treatment options with his physicians following the diagnosis, which was made on Friday.

The office’s statement confirmed that the former president has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) and metastasis to the bone. While the cancer is described as aggressive, it is reportedly hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management, the statement noted.
