A wave of grief and shock has swept through the Eche Ezema community in Ibagwa Aka, Igbo Eze South LGA of Enugu State, following the tragic murder of four young siblings, allegedly at the hands of a local pastor.

The children — Kamsiyochukwu Ezema (7), Ezinne Ezema (6), Ujunwa Ezema (5), and Chinedu Ezema (2) — were reportedly killed with a pestle while they were alone at home. The suspect, said to be a pastor of a Sabbath church situated near the victims’ residence, allegedly scaled the fence before committing the gruesome act.

The accused is currently in custody at the Divisional Police Station in Ibagwa Aka as investigations continue.

According to a family source, the horrifying discovery was made after neighbors raised the alarm. “The suspect used a pestle to kill them,” the source said, visibly shaken by the tragedy.

The children’s parents, Chinonso and Loveth Ezema, who were reportedly away when the incident occurred, are demanding justice for their murdered children. “We want the police to thoroughly investigate this and ensure the culprit is brought to book,” their father pleaded.

He also revealed that their home shares a fence with the church where the suspect ministers.

A police officer at the Ibagwa Aka station, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the report and stated that a full investigation is underway. “We urge the public to remain calm and allow the authorities to uncover the full truth behind this heartbreaking incident,” the officer said.

The community remains in mourning as the Ezema family and residents await answers — and justice.
