Music executive Teebillz has emphasized that open-minded parenting encourages children to explore different experiences and discover their own truths.
The father of four shared this view in an Instagram post on Sunday, where he warmly welcomed his 18-year-old daughter’s boyfriend, Kobe, into his home. “I’m very proud to welcome my daughter’s boyfriend at 18 rather than caging her to be rebellious,” he wrote. “I’m so proud to teach her to be with an excellent young Black man — with honors, respectful, loving, and from a good two-parent home!”
Teebillz elaborated on the importance of open-mindedness in parenting: “By being open-minded, we allow our children to explore, question, and discover their own truths. My daughter; my business.” He also reflected on the effort of raising his daughter, saying, “To raise a child for 18 years in a private school in Los Angeles is no small feat! I know my mother is proud of me.”
He concluded with a heartfelt message to critics: “Any negative comment on this post — may you not feel the joy that I’m feeling right now! Amen.”
In a follow-up, Teebillz shared a conversation he had with Kobe about his daughter, praising the young man for being a better man than himself.
