The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a 43-year-old woman, identified as Gift, for allegedly biting off the tip of her lover’s genitals during a domestic altercation in the Mile 3 area of Diobu, Port Harcourt.

The shocking incident, which occurred on Bishop Okoye Street—a densely populated part of the city—sparked widespread alarm among residents after details of the violent encounter surfaced.

According to local sources, the altercation began when Gift’s partner, identified only as Sunday, requested to engage in sexual activity. Gift reportedly refused, accusing him of relying on performance-enhancing drugs that resulted in excessively prolonged sessions.

A resident, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told our correspondent, “Mr. Sunday became angry and allegedly assaulted his partner following her refusal. During the struggle, Gift reportedly bit the tip of his penis.”

Sunday’s cries for help attracted neighbors, some of whom attempted to retaliate against the woman before officers from the Nkpolu Police Division arrived and arrested her.

“The tip of the man’s penis was completely severed,” the resident added, describing the chaotic aftermath.

Gift was taken into custody by officers led by the Divisional Police Officer, while Sunday was rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Port Harcourt for urgent medical treatment.

Confirming the incident on Friday, May 16, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Superintendent Grace Iringe-Koko, said, “Yes, I can confirm the incident. The suspect, a 43-year-old woman, has been arrested, and an investigation is ongoing.”
