President Bola Tinubu is currently holding a high-level security meeting with the nation’s military service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) at the State House in Abuja.

The meeting comes amid escalating security challenges in parts of northern Nigeria, particularly in Plateau, Benue, and Borno states, where hundreds of lives have been lost in recent weeks.

This development follows the President’s recent approval of the immediate establishment and deployment of forest guard units to enhance security across 1,129 forests nationwide.

Those in attendance at the meeting include the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa; Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla; and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, among others.
