A 61-year-old woman died after being thrown from a third-floor balcony during a domestic dispute, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Authorities say Irene Williams and her boyfriend, 57-year-old Albert Turner, had been in a relationship for some time. On the evening of Monday, May 12, the couple got into a heated argument at an apartment located in the 500 block of West San Ysidro Boulevard.

During the dispute, Williams allegedly began tossing Turner’s belongings off the third-floor balcony. In response, Turner reportedly grabbed Williams and threw her over the railing, causing her to fall onto the concrete courtyard below, police said.

Witnesses at the scene called 911 around 7:21 p.m. and told dispatchers they had seen a man throw a woman from the balcony.

When officers arrived, they found Williams in the courtyard with severe head trauma and a broken leg. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Turner was arrested at the scene and booked into the San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and violating probation. He is currently being held without bail, according to jail records.
