Valeria Márquez, a 23-year-old TikTok influencer, was tragically shot and killed while livestreaming to her followers from a beauty salon in Jalisco, Mexico.
The incident occurred at the Santa María shopping plaza, where Márquez was broadcasting live on social media. According to a report by El Imparcial, a man on a motorbike arrived at the salon, entered the premises, and opened fire before fleeing the scene.
Authorities are currently investigating the attack, and no arrests have been reported at this time.
Officials are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman described as having “an active presence and influence on social media,” though her name has not yet been officially released.
Footage circulating online appears to show the moment the victim—reportedly a TikToker and licensed aesthetician—was shot multiple times during a livestream from inside her beauty salon, Blossom the Beauty Lounge, located in the western Mexican state of Jalisco. In the video, the woman, identified by local media as Valeria, is seen smiling and looking out the window just moments before the attack occurred.
According to initial reports, a gunman entered the salon and opened fire before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.
Paramedics responded swiftly, but Valeria was pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement officials have since cordoned off the salon, and a manhunt is underway as authorities pursue leads in her murder investigation.
Valeria was widely known on TikTok for her beauty and lifestyle content, amassing more than 110,000 followers on the platform.
An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted in the coming hours, according to Infobae.
In a statement, the Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office said: “According to the initial investigation, she was in her establishment when a man entered and apparently shot her several times with a firearm, killing her.”
Authorities continue to urge anyone with information related to the case to come forward.
