A photo has been released of Chester Lamar Grant, the flatmate of British-Nigerian student nurse Tamilore Elizabeth Odunsi, after he was charged with her murder.
Tamilore, 23, was found with multiple stab wounds on the kitchen floor of her home in Houston, Texas, at around 3:50 p.m. on April 26, according to the Houston Police Department.
Her 40-year-old flatmate, Chester Lamar Grant, was discovered in a bedroom with at least one stab wound and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police said officers were conducting a welfare check at the apartment on Goforth Street when they received no response at the door. Upon entering the property—located above an apartment complex—they found Tamilore deceased and Grant severely injured.
Tamilore was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities stated that her murder occurred just days before she was due to graduate from university.
According to investigators, the fatal incident may have followed a dispute between the pair regarding their pet cats.
Grant has now been formally charged with her murder.
