Leo Umana, the Executive Director of the Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service (AKIRS), has sparked conversation online with a bold piece of advice to men regarding relationships and money.

In a Facebook post shared on Monday, Umana warned men to be cautious of women who do not ask them for money, suggesting that such relationships might be financially draining in unexpected ways.

“Brothers: Avoid any woman that doesn’t love money or ask you for money. You will be poorer than she met you,” he wrote.

The statement has since stirred mixed reactions on social media. While some users interpreted his comment as a humorous take on modern dating dynamics, others questioned the implications of linking financial expectations to the value of a relationship.

Umana, known for his straightforward commentary on societal issues, has not yet elaborated further on the post. Nonetheless, his remark continues to fuel debate around gender roles, money, and relationships in contemporary Nigerian society.
