Nollywood legend Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde recently shared an empowering message on her Instagram story, offering guidance and reassurance to young women navigating life’s challenges.
Inspired by a post she received from a young girl feeling lost, Omotola felt compelled to speak directly to those struggling with self-worth and direction. Her words were candid, heartfelt, and full of encouragement.
“Darling, everyone blossoms at different times,” she began. “Although family, society, and culture may try to dictate when it’s right, it’s not always best — and it may not be for you,” she shared.
In an era where social media often intensifies pressure and comparisons, Omotola reminded young women that feeling “different” isn’t a weakness — it’s a gift. “You think it’s bad because you’re not normal? No. It’s special. You are special,” she affirmed.
She encouraged them to tune out the noise — especially social media — and instead focus on what brings them peace, hope, and joy. “Start working on yourself… find things that keep you moving and do them. Turn off social media. Even I do, very often,” she advised.
At the core of her message was a spiritual recommendation. “If you don’t know Him… my personal advice — seek a personal relationship with Jesus. Try that… I promise, you’ll find joy in your journey,” she added.
Omotola concluded her message with a note of quiet optimism: “Your best is yet to come. It might not feel like that now… but soon, you’ll look back and smile. You’ll see.”
