A Nigerian dermatologist has weighed in on the viral video of actress Angela Okorie, which has stirred reactions across social media. The video shows the actress running during a movie shoot, dressed in white bum shorts and a matching top, with her noticeably large buttocks drawing attention.
The video, originally shared by Okorie herself, quickly went viral, sparking debates about body enhancements and their place in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Reacting to the clip, Dr. Bea, a Lagos-based aesthetic dermatologist, described the moment as a “wake-up call” for Nigerian actresses. She emphasized the idea that “less is more” when it comes to cosmetic procedures, particularly those aimed at enhancing physical features.
Dr. Bea advised actresses to prioritize honing their acting skills over pursuing exaggerated body modifications. According to her, procedures like Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBL) may be more fitting for influencers, whose work often relies on visual appeal. In contrast, she argued, actresses are judged more on their talent and performance than on their physical appearance.
“Viewers want to be captivated by your craft, not just your curves,” she stated.
