MLS side D.C. United hold the discovery rights to free agent Paul Pogba, according to The Athletic. Under Major League Soccer rules, discovery rights allow teams to list up to five players, giving them the exclusive first opportunity to negotiate with those players should they decide to join the league.
D.C. United are reportedly in discussions over a potential move for Pogba, who became a free agent following the termination of his contract with Juventus after receiving a doping suspension.
Initially handed a four-year ban in March 2024, Pogba’s suspension was reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), making him eligible to return to professional football later this year.
The 32-year-old has been spotted at several MLS matches since his last competitive appearance in September 2023, fueling speculation about a possible move to the United States.
According to GIVEMESPORT, D.C. United held informal talks with Pogba two months ago. The French midfielder is said to have a personal connection with the club’s owner, Jason Levien. However, sources indicate that discussions are not yet advanced and no formal offer has been made.
Adding to the intrigue, on Monday night, internet personality KSI revealed that Pogba is also in talks to join the Baller League, a new entertainment-focused football competition.
