Damilola Adegeye, one of the daughters of legendary juju musician King Sunny Ade, has accused her step-brother, Dayo, of holding their 78-year-old father hostage.

In a series of posts shared via her Instagram Stories, Damilola alleged that Dayo—who she described as her father’s manager—along with his mother, brothers, and their driver, has effectively “kidnapped” the veteran singer.

She claimed that no family member has been able to contact King Sunny Ade recently and that his whereabouts remain unknown. According to Damilola, the musician has not been to their family home in a while, and all attempts to reach him have been unsuccessful.

She also accused Dayo of withholding critical information from the family and misleading them by insisting that everyone is aware of the singer’s location.

“This has shown me who they really are. These are the people around my dad, yet no one in the family knows where he is,” she wrote. “Everyone is looking for him, but they claim we all know where he is. Hmmm, very funny. Come read this with me. Real stuff is coming out now!”

Currently residing in the United Kingdom, Damilola further alleged that King Sunny Ade is being forced to continue working under duress and that the family has not seen any financial benefit from his ongoing engagements. She called on Dayo to allow the veteran artist to rest and urged the public not to book him for any events at the moment.

“King Sunny Ade, my dad, has been kidnapped and is working under duress. Emergency! Bro D, stop booking the shows and let him rest, so he can take care of his family,” she said. “He keeps working, but the family is not seeing the money! I need the Nigerian police. Please don’t book him now. He is working under duress!”

As of now, Dayo has not responded to the allegations.
