While speaking to his congregation, Pastor Iren shared that, as a pastor, he has encountered many situations like this over the years.
He recalled an incident where a young woman approached him, claiming that a man from the church had sexually assaulted her. Deeply disturbed by the allegation, Iren said he was determined to see the man brought to justice.
However, his perspective shifted when the accused presented WhatsApp messages from the woman, in which she expressed that she had a “nice time” with him.
“In this ministry, nine out of ten cases where women claimed they were sexually assaulted turned out to be false,” he said. “And I’m not talking about our assumptions — I mean by the women’s own later admissions.”
He continued, “In the early days, I was still new to all this. I used to get really angry. In one case, I even told the man, ‘As long as I’m alive, I will make sure you go to jail.’ But then he sent me a message showing the woman had texted him saying she enjoyed the encounter. I was shocked.
“If he hadn’t kept that message, he would have been in serious trouble. Why lie like that?”
