Portable Granted N2 Million Bail After Pleading Not Guilty in Court

Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been granted bail by the Isabo Magistrate Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Portable was arraigned on five counts, including conspiracy, assault, unlawful restriction, possession of weapons (cutlasses and guns), and conduct likely to cause harm. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Nine of his aides were also arraigned before Magistrate O. L. Oke on similar charges. The suspects include:

  • Nurudeen Warris (21)
  • Adetola Alashe (25)
  • Samuel Adeleke (28)
  • Oluwaseun Ayenuwa (19)
  • Oluwapelumi Adeosun (20)
  • Gospel Kanu (20)
  • Precious Ohiegebo (19)
  • Ifeoluwa Babatunde (27)
  • Fatimo Muhammed (26)

Allegations Against Portable and His Aides

The defendants are accused of:

  • Assaulting, restricting, and obstructing town planners Abidemi Onabanjo, Ramon Lateef, and Akinpelumi Oyero while they were performing their lawful duties at Odogwu Bar, a venue owned by Portable.
  • Engaging in conduct likely to cause a breach of peace and attempting to harm the town planners.

Court Proceedings

After Portable pleaded not guilty, his lawyer, Oluwatoyin Ayodele, pleaded for bail, stating that the singer “is now remorseful and has learned his lessons.”

Magistrate O. L. Oke granted Portable bail in the sum of N2 million with one surety in like sum. The case has been adjourned to March 5, 2025, for trial.
