Mohbad’s Widow Accuses Father-in-Law of Delaying DNA Test, Reveals His Conditions
Omowunmi, the widow of late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has opened up about the prolonged delay in conducting a DNA test to determine the paternity of her son, Liam.
In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Omowunmi revealed that despite her willingness to proceed with the test, Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has allegedly been frustrating the process.
For months, Mr. Aloba has repeatedly demanded a DNA test in various interviews, insisting on confirming Liam’s paternity. However, Omowunmi claimed that her legal team had already reached out, expressing readiness to conduct the test, but her father-in-law has continued to stall.
She further alleged that Mr. Aloba is aware that Liam is Mohbad’s son but is reluctant to proceed with the test because, once confirmed, public goodwill and support from Mohbad’s fans would shift to the child instead of him.
According to Omowunmi, many devoted Mohbad fans have expressed interest in supporting Liam but want the paternity issue clarified first—something she claims her father-in-law is trying to prevent.
She also disclosed that Mr. Aloba set two conditions before agreeing to the DNA test: that the result must not be made public and that she must not take legal action against him after the test.
Omowunmi lamented the damage done to her reputation by her father-in-law, who has repeatedly accused her of infidelity and cast doubts on Liam’s paternity, even citing the child’s bowleg as proof that he is not a member of their family.
Additionally, she revealed that she faces daily threats and hateful messages simply for demanding justice for her late husband.
