Nigerian Doctor Warns Men Against Certain Sexual Positions to Prevent Injury
A Nigerian medical doctor, Ajidahun Olusina, has cautioned men to avoid specific sexual positions to reduce the risk of serious injury that could land them in the hospital.
Dr. Olusina, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, February 19, warned that certain positions increase the likelihood of penile fracture, a painful and serious condition.
“As a man, there are some sexual positions you should remove from your diary if you don’t want to risk landing in a hospital,” he wrote.
He listed the risky positions as:
- Doggy
- Cowgirl
- Reverse Cowgirl
Explaining the reason behind his advice, Dr. Olusina stated that these positions create an unfavorable angle during penetration and thrusting, increasing the risk of penile fracture.
He also cited a study on men who suffered penile fractures, which found that:
- Doggy style accounted for 41% of cases
- Missionary (Man on Top) accounted for 25.5%
- Woman on Top accounted for 9%
Given the high risk, he urged men to be cautious, particularly with positions like doggy style, which he emphasized as the most dangerous.
