Ogun Police Declare Singer Portable Wanted for Allegedly Assaulting Government Officials

The Ogun State Police Command has declared Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, popularly known as Portable, wanted for allegedly leading a violent attack on government officials performing their lawful duties.

In a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, the incident occurred on February 5, 2025, at approximately 10:00 AM. Officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office—identified as TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—were carrying out an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, when they encountered Portable’s father at Odogwu Bar.

The officials identified themselves and requested an approved building plan, but Portable’s father informed them that his son was unavailable.

“However, moments later, Portable, armed with a firearm and other dangerous weapons, led a gang of nine thugs in a violent attack on the unarmed officials. The enforcement officers sustained various injuries but managed to escape and report the incident to the Ota Area Command, which then escalated the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further action,” the statement read.

While nine of his alleged accomplices have been arrested, Portable reportedly fled the scene and has been in hiding since the attack. According to the police, multiple invitations were sent to him, requesting his presence at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, but he ignored them without providing any legal representation.

Following his repeated refusal to appear, the Ogun State Police Command obtained a valid court order declaring him wanted.

Odutola urged the public to assist the police with any information that could lead to his arrest, warning that anyone found aiding or harboring the suspect would face legal consequences.

“For any relevant information, kindly report to the nearest police station or contact the Ogun State Police Command through its official communication channels or the police public relations department,” he added.
