Ugezu J. Ugezu Responds After Noble Igwe Criticizes Wealthy Igbo Men’s Public Behavior
Nollywood actor Ugezu J. Ugezu has reacted to Noble Igwe’s recent criticism of wealthy Igbo men, where the media personality accused them of being “classless” and “unruly” in public.
Igwe had shared his experiences at public events, claiming that some affluent Igbo men arrived late to a wedding and disregarded the hosts’ seating arrangements. He also recalled another incident where wealthy Igbo men rudely refused to show their invitation tags when asked. Urging them to do better, he called for a change in behavior.
In response, Ugezu cautioned Igwe to ensure his claims were truthful, warning that making false accusations against an entire ethnic group could have serious consequences.
“Mazi Noble Igwe, please be sure that you are not chasing clout. Be certain that all the allegations you are making against Ndigbo are true. Ifea ga abanyekwa na alusi (This matter will reach the shrine). Adi asikpo obodo asi (One does not falsely accuse an entire tribe). Adi esi alusi nwelu ibobo ngo,” Ugezu wrote.
His response has since sparked discussions online, with opinions divided over Igwe’s statements and Ugezu’s reaction.
