Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has disclosed that the construction of the much-anticipated 37km Fourth Mainland Bridge is set to commence by the end of March or April.
Addressing attendees at the Lagos West Senatorial District Town Hall Meeting on Thursday at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Ikeja, the governor highlighted the extensive preparations that have been made for the project. He emphasized the need for creative financing, expressing gratitude for reaching the final stages of construction planning.
Sanwo-Olu outlined the phased approach to the construction, with the first phase spanning from the junction at Abraham Adesanya to the Badore Waterfront. He acknowledged the inevitability of some inconvenience due to the project but assured compensation for those affected.
The governor affirmed the commitment to compensating both tenants and landlords of the properties affected by the construction. Subsequent phases will extend from the Waterfront in Ado to Ibeshe in Ikorodu and from Ibeshe to Ita-Elewa junction, eventually connecting to the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
